ALFREDO WILLIAMS

Alfredo Williams nació en el porteño Barrio Norte de Buenos Aires el 7 de abril de 1955. Logró en
“Bestiario Anime” la aparición de un mundo de seres mutantes de mediano y gran formato,
policromados con esmalte sintético, en los que es fácil advertir que esta materia le vino como
anillo al dedo para abordar anhelos e inquietudes que a lo largo de su camino siempre lo
interpelaron: me refiero a esta oscilación entre quietud y movimiento, en donde este último ahora
gana el espacio con la misma dinámica de sus primeras tintas y bocetos, asumiendo una posición
diametralmente opuesta a la serie “Concordancias”. En aquellas esculturas, con sus acabadas
perfecciones totémicas, el espacio es apenas un entorno quieto de sus formas rotundas, donde
todo sucede en las ondulantes superficies animadas por las líneas del laminado. En el año 2015
Williams obtiene el Gran Premio Adquisición del Salón Nacional de escultura de la nación
argentina.

Alfredo Williams was born at the Barrio Norte district in Buenos Aires City on April 7th, 1955 .
Achieved in “Bestiario Anime” the creation of a world of mutant beings of medium and large
format: polychromes with synthetic enamel, in which it is easy to see that this material fitted him
like a glove to meet his desires and answer the questions that had always followed him along the
way: I am talking about this oscillation between quietness and movement, where the latter gains
space with the same dynamics of his first ink drawings and sketches, taking a position totally
opposed to that of “Concordances”series: in those sculptures, in their complete totemic
perfection, the space is just a quiet place of their categorical shapes, where everything happens in
the waving animated surfaces by the lines of the plies. In 2015 Williams obtains the Grand Prize
Acquisition of the National Salon of sculpture of the Argentine nation.
